ENERGY DRINK MANUFACTURER
After years of increasing in the energy drink category, a particular manufacturer slipped to sixth place in the market. My task was to figure out why they were losing market share and provide recommendations to reverse the trend.
Building a database on information collected from the competitor’s social media, I could clearly see the competitor’s portfolio offered a top-selling smaller size product my client didn’t offer, as well as a popular variety energy pack – another product missing from my client’s portfolio.
The company decided to offer product flavors and portion sizes to compete more successfully in this market. This resulted in a jump in sales the very first month, and sales have increased each month since.
commercial TALENT agency
Over the past ten years, commercial talent companies have merged and the majority are now owned by a few large conglomerates. My client came to me to take his small commercial agency in another direction where there was more opportunity for him.
My Task was to create a road map of a new promising opportunity for my client.
I delivered a business plan highlighting the top locations and niche opportunities for the agency. Among other findings, I indentified an opportunity gap in placing specialized candidates. This resulted in a successful step-by-step roadmap to creating, funding and re-locating the new agency.
A new skincare manufacturer wanted to launch a skincare line to stay ahead of trends, but as a new company had no proof of prior success or name recognition to convert customers.
I interviewed successful skincare company CEO’s to discover how to launch and build new product lines. Next, I turned to prospective customers via online surveys to understand how they would respond to several variations (texture, smell, color) for possible products. Based on this research, I recommended key ingredients and features to promote. Finally, I developed a media strategy and created a step-by-step guide to getting PR for free. This resulted in the products being featured in over 30 magazines and radio shows, leading the company to steadily stealing market share from its competitors.
These days, book self publishing is the norm. Fifteen years ago it was just starting to emerge. My client, a self-publishing bestselling author who helped start the trend, approached me because his sales were flat in a sea of self-publishing authors.
I focused on re-aligning my client’s book topics to his reader’s current needs, wants and desires.
Creating a database built on information collected from his current readers, this offered trendable insights on behavior, attitudes and motivations for their reading preferences. Based on my analysis, my client decided to offer several large-print, easy to consume books based on non-fiction. This resulted in a quadrupling of sales to his current readers with the release of just the very first book.
US ARMY & DEPT OF HOMELAND SECURITY
The government had to figure out where to locate troops to find and neutralize the highest number of insurgents (US Army), and locate terrorists living in the United States (Dept of Homeland Security).
My task was to gather and analyze information using intelligence networks and geographic information systems. Based on that information, anticipate and prevent future acts of terrorism within the area of interest.
Working within several databases, I compared patterns of attack and harmful activity. I forecasted trends and provided recommendations. This resulted in helping keep US troops safe and eliminated several enemy threats, also leading to deportation of stateside terrorists.
My client, publisher of decks of cards covering travel, health and entertainment, planned to launch a beauty deck. They were unsure of the efficacy of their do-it-yourself skincare recipes and wanted fact-based confirmation before investing the additional resources to launch the product.
I needed to create select recipes, and review hundreds of skincare recipes, for efficacy and product safety. Ultimately, I created, reviewed and edited 150 recipes; gathering information on each ingredient and how they affect the body’s hormones, oil production and its ability to heal itself.
The company felt confident to launch, using my information in its final product. This resulted in the product featured in on TV and in numerous other media outlets. Sales are very strong for the product and company.
